This ought to be a work putting together most of my previous research and efforts. The hardware is made up of:
- Arduino MEGA main board
- Arduino MEGA IO extension board by DFRobot (with MicroSD socket)
- LCD4884 shield for Arduino
- MTK3389 GPS receiver (with 5Hz update speed)
- OBD-II UART adapter
After being able to record the realtime vehcile data and GPS data, I need a rendering program so that I can view the recorded data graphically. Finally I didn’t take time to make my own one but made use of Google Earth for doing this. I wrote a utility program to convert all the recorded binary data into a KML file which can be loaded into Google Earth.
Click here to download the KMZ file
Finally a video showing my Arduino Mega data logger working in the car.
Is this kit available for sale? I would also like to know the price of the kit. If I buy the components separately would you provide online help with the codes? Thanks.
Actually I am going to put up a kit with all these parts as well as the firmware. Please stay tuned.
I would be very interested in this kit. Any idea when your kit will be available?
It won’t be too long. I am adding G-force logging feature right now.
Hi Stanley,
very interesting! Please inform me, when you’ done it. I must have this device! 😉
Kind Regards
